A poem...
Mother Earth
Mother Earth I love your song
Wind blowing through the branches
Spring is coming soon I know
Though winter around my heart dances.
Like budding flowers and bumblebees
Let your rain fall upon me
Cleanse me of all the wrong
Give me new colors to see.
For I feel at peace alone with nature
The breeze upon my face
Long walks in the country clear my mind
Life doesn’t have to be a rat race.
I wish I could stay here with you
Mother Earth so old and wise
Listen to your words of wisdom
So bare and truthful never disguised.
But my time is ending here
Soon back to the city I must go
Just one more deep breath
Mother Earth your pain I know.
I’ll try to be a better person
Recycle and create less waste
For I appreciate all you’ve done
Allowing us humans to live in haste.
